Actor Awards 2026: Sandra Bernhard Has Epic Reaction to Landing ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Role
Sandra Bernhard is more than ready to check into The White Lotus.
In fact, the actress revealed she's actually been waiting decades—yes, really—for the chance to star in Mike White's beloved TV drama.
"What made me beg Mike White for 25 years as his friend, to say, 'When are you writing me a star-turning role?'" Bernhard exclusively told E! News' Keltie Knight on The Actor Awards 2026—formerly the SAG Awards—red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles March 1. "'Mike, what do I have [to do]?'"
Jokes aside, the 70-year-old continued, "He loves me. We love each other. And he finally said, 'This is it. This is the season.' This is it, and it's the right time." (See every star on the Actor Awards red carpet here.)
But with season four of the hit HBO series still in pre-production, Bernhard isn't about to leak any spoilers when it comes to her character's role in the vacation drama.
"No," she dead panned, "lips are sealed."
But keeping fans guessing is part of the fun. As the Marty Supreme actress added, "There's a lot of time to ponder and think about it and fantasize, and then when it all comes out, it'll all be the right time."
Bernhard's update comes several weeks after HBO confirmed which new stars would be checking in to the ill-fated hotel, which will be set in France next season.

In addition to Bernhard, Chris Messina, Helena Bonham Carter, as well as Marissa Long, will join the series, on top of previously announced Steve Coogan, Celeb Jonte Edwards, AJ Michalka and Alexander Ludwig.
And while Bernhard will have to wait a little longer before getting to hang out on set with the star-studded list of actors, she recently made a check off her bucket list after getting to costar with Fran Drescher in Marty Supreme.
"I've never known Fran, and I thought, 'She's gonna think I'm, like, too radical," she recounted to E!. "And then we got on the set, and we just melted into each other, like two sisters."
