Khloe Kardashian Says Kris Jenner "Conned" Her Into Doing 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians'

Kourtney Kardashian Barker is calling it like she quite literally sees it.

Ahead of the Poosh founder’s 46th birthday, she revealed her mom Kris Jenner already got a note over to her, although she couldn't help but point out a small eyebrow-raising detail on the stationery.

In the photo, which was posted to Kourtney’s Instagram Story on April 15, she showed off the letterhead featuring Kris’ name at the top—but it read “Kris Kardashian Jenner” in scripted purple font.

Above the snapshot, Kourtney wrote, “I love my mommy,” before quipping, “New middle name?”

Indeed, it would be noteworthy if Kris, 70, adopted Kardashian as her middle name, considering she and late ex-husband Robert Kardashian Sr. divorced in 1991 and she dropped Kardashian from her name shortly thereafter. That same year, Kris went on to marry Caitlyn Jenner, taking Jenner as her new surname.

However, after their divorce in 2015, Kris contemplated changing her name back to Kardashian. During a 2016 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the momager told Khloe Kardashian that she often books restaurant reservations under Kris Kardashian.

When Khloe pointed out that it wasn't her actual name, Kris said, "I'm going to change my name back to Kardashian."

Khloe was still confusing, asking, "Why? You haven't been that in over 24 years," and this led Kris to give her daughter an iconic answer.

"I was that before you were that," she quipped. "I was the original Kardashian."

However, name changes are nothing out of the ordinary for the family. After all, Kourtney added husband Travis Barker’s surname to hers after they got married in May 2022.

In fact, the Kardashians star—who shares children Mason, 16, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 11, with ex Scott Disick, stepchildren Atiana, 27, Landon, 22 and Alabama, 20, as well as baby Rocky, 2, with Travis—previously joked about dropping Kardashian entirely from her name.

After Kylie gifted Kourtney a pair of blue Khy by Kylie Jenner jeans, complete with her "K.K." initials embroidered on them, Kourtney revealed her one issue with the pants.

As Elle explained, because their mother went by her middle name, it made sense for the sisters to do the same.

“It was awkward in school when they were calling roll call,” she recalled to Glamour in 2016, “because they’d go, ‘Mary? Mary?’ Kids would be like, ‘There’s no Mary here.’ I’d awkwardly raise my hand, like, ‘Uh, it’s me.’”

"My dad's name is Sterling Brown Jr., my grandfather is Sterling Brown Sr.," he said during an April 2025 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. "I wanted my own name and it felt like Sterling was an old man's name."

But years after his dad died from a heart attack, the This Is Us alum decided to revert back to his first name as a way to honor his father.

"Because he passed away when I was 10, by the time I turned 16 and I hadn't heard his name for five, five-and-a-half years,” he continued. “I was like, ‘I kinda just want to hear that name again.’ So I asked people to call me Sterling."
