Why Natalie Portman's Kids Are "Resistant" to Watching Her Movies
Natalie Portman's next role? V for Very Pregnant.
The Black Swan actress and boyfriend Tanguy Destable are expecting their first baby together, she confirmed to Harper’s Bazaar. Portman is also mom to 14-year-old son Aleph and 9-year-old daughter Amalia with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied.
“Tanguy and I are very excited,” she the outlet in an interview shared April 17. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”
“I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,” the 44-year-old added, referring to her father's work as a fertility doctor. “I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing."
Noting “how lucky it is,” she concluded, “I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”
The news comes two years after she finalized her divorce from Millepied, who she wed in 2012. In March of last year, she was linked to the French musician, but the pair have largely kept their romance out of the spotlight, stepping out only for the occasional date night.
Much like her new relationship, the Thor: Love & Thunder actress keeps details her children off social media and outside the public eye. Though, she does share the occasional insight into their family dynamic.
“My kids are so resistant to seeing anything that I’m in,” Portman told E! News in January. “I was always like, ‘Yeah, if you want to see it, like if some of your friends have seen it or whatever.’ And they were like ‘No, thanks.’”

As she put it, “They kind of just want to see me as me, which I appreciate.”
And to them, mom knows best.
