John Travolta Debuts New Look on Cannes 2026 Red Carpet
For John Travolta, fatherhood is the word.
In fact, the Grease star recently spent a few summer nights—or rather spring afternoons—attending the 2026 Cannes Film Festival with his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta.
The two were there to celebrate their new film Propeller One-Way Night Coach, which John wrote, directed and narrated and Ella starred in as a flight attendant. And when it came to casting, he always knew that she was the one that he’d want for the role.
"I had this plan of introducing Ella to the world as an adult in this very Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly kind of way," the beret-clad 72-year-old, whose directorial debut was based on his 1997 children's book, said on Today May 20, "and so I did everything I could to really set the scene for this kind of introduction and it’s made a big impact so far. I’m so proud of her."
Ella is one of three children John welcomed with his late wife Kelly Preston, who died in 2020 after a two-year battle with breast cancer. The Saturday Night Fever alum and the Jerry Maguire actress became parents for the first time in 1992 with the arrival of their son Jett, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 16, and their now 15-year-old son Benjamin entered the world in 2010.
And while John has taken on many roles throughout his life, he’s proven that the one he’s hopelessly devoted to the most is dad.
"It is a privilege to be the father of these two beautiful children," he wrote on Instagram for Father’s Day in 2021, "thank you for the honor and my love and respect to all fathers."

John Travolta and Ella Bleu Travolta Have Acted Together Before.
Given her parents' careers, it should come as no surprise that Ella caught the acting bug. She appeared alongside her mom and dad in the 2009 film Old Dogs and co-starred in his 2019 movie The Poison Rose.
"My first job I ever did acting was with him when I was 7, so I love working with my dad," the 26-year-old shared on Today in 2024. "If I could always do it, I would."
And while Ella is following in her family’s famous footsteps, John has made it clear she’s still carving her own path.
"She is her own person,” the Pulp Fiction actor told People in 2019. "She is gracious, generous, poised, graceful and gorgeous. I don't know how she came to be, and I don't take any credit other than just adoring her. And maybe that's a valid contribution."
Ella Bleu Travolta Also Sings.
In addition to being an actress, Ella is a musician. In 2022, she dropped her first single “Dizzy" followed by her EP Colors of Love and "Little Bird" music video, a tribute to her mom, two years later.
"I think it’s different for each person going through loss, but for me personally it was just this pure message that I wanted to give to my mom," Ella explained to Today in 2024. "Because even though there can be so much support from everyone, it can also sometimes get in the way of how you truly feel and how you want to communicate those last words to that person."
And the song, she continued, was "my message from a baby bird to a mama bird and also to yourself too because you will always know what’s right and trust yourself.”

Ella Bleu Travolta Is No Stranger to the Modeling World.
Over the years, Ella has appeared in several magazines and ad campaigns. And John noted on Instagram he was "so proud of Ella’s debut at fashion week in New York City" in 2022.
Baking Is a Favorite Past Time for Ella Bleu Travolta.
Look who’s talking baking. Both Ella and John have posted videos of her whipping up some tasty treats, including his 2023 clip of her "recreating the famous Tom Cruise gift cake."
"We’re a big food family," she added on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019. "We do bake-offs at home too—like Chopped competitions or Bake-Off—but he wins every single time."
John Travolta and Ella Bleu Travolta Have a Close Father-Daughter Relationship.
John and Ella’s familial bond proves they go together like ramma-lamma-lamma-ka-dingity-da-dinga-dong.
"He’s my biggest fan and I’m his biggest fan," she told Parade in 2023, "so there’s a lot of support going on, which is—it’s amazing. I learn so much from him all the time."
