This Is An Insult – APC Blasts Adeleke’s Chief Of Staff, Demands Resignation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has called for the resignation of the Chief of Staff to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Kazeem Akinleye over allegations of links to a reported ₦13.7 billion payroll fraud.

Speaking via a press statement by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the party lamented that claims surrounding the payroll fraud had further heightened concerns about the administration.

Olabisi stated that Akinleye has brought monumental shame to the state and urged him to step down from office.

The APC referenced allegations made by Saadat Ottun, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sally Tibbot Consulting Limited, which have circulated widely on social media.

“It is now understood that Governor Adeleke has been getting everything wrong about his waning administration simply because those who are manning the key sectors of his government are grossly deficient in managerial skills,” the statement read.

The APC described Akinleye as unfit for the position of Chief of Staff, stating that his actions had undermined public confidence in the state government.

That a character like Akinleye could be occupying such a sensitive office in the Osun State Government is an insult to the sensibility of the people of the state,” the party stated.

The opposition party also compared the current Chief of Staff with previous occupants of the office, including Elder Peter Babalola, who served under former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Gboyega Oyetola, who held the position during the administration of Rauf Aregbesola.

A cursory appraisal of the past Chiefs of Staff in the state revealed that there cannot be any meeting point between them and the incumbent CoS,” the statement added.

The APC further alleged that Akinleye had exceeded his official responsibilities and accused him of using his position for personal advantage.

We hereby resolve that Akinleye should resign his appointment without further delay as he has brought more than enough monumental shame to the people of this state,” the statement said.
