The Bachelorette Australia’s Konrad Bien-Stephen Dead at 35

Konrad Bien-Stephen, known for his stints on The Bachelorette Australia and The Challenge Australia, died in Melbourne, his management team confirmed. He was 35.

Australian reality TV fans are mourning the loss of a bright star.

Konrad Bien-Stephena third runner-up on Brooke Blurton’s season of The Bachelorette Australia and a star of The Challenge Australiahas died, his team confirmed April 2. He was 35. 

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Konrad Bien-Stephen,” his team said in a statement obtained by Variety. “We ask that you respect the privacy of their family during this incredibly difficult time. No further information will be shared at this stage. Our thoughts are with all who loved him.”

The reality star’s final post on social media was March 26, when he shared insight into an ongoing kitchen renovation he was working on, adding in the caption, "Back On The Tewls Darling!"

Underneath his post, many of Bien-Stephen’s loved ones and fellow reality stars shared love for him. 

“You warmed my soul every time I saw you,” The Amazing Race Australia star “Sassy” Scott O'Halloran wrote. “and even thought about you.”

MasterChef Australia star Khanh Ong added, “Beautiful boy, you were one of the kindest people and you made me smile every time I saw you, you will be missed.”

Bien-Stephen rose to fame during his 2021 stint on The Bachelorette Australia, where he became a fan favorite, despite Brooke ultimately choosing Darvid Garayeli

He went on to compete in The Challenge, and also earned renown for his high profile relationships with singer Thelma Plum and fellow reality star Abbie Chatfield, who shared a tribute to her ex on her Instagram Story.

“Konrad was such a kind and sweet person to everyone,” Abbie wrote in an April 2 Instagram Story. “A very caring man who deserved a very, very long life. I am so heartbroken he doesn’t get to do that. And that his loved ones don’t get to experience that full, long life with him.”

She continued, “I know that Konrad would want people to share love and kindness and if you do anything today, please check in on your mates. Do an act of kindness, talk to a friend, anything.”
