Sinners' Miles Caton Has Perfect Reaction to Michael B. Jordan's Best Actor Oscar 2026 Win
Miles Caton was dancing out of the Oscars.
After all, not only did he witness Ryan Coogler win Original Screenplay for Sinners during the March 15 event, but he also watched his friend and the film’s lead Michael B. Jordan become only the sixth Black man to win Best Actor.
“I wanted that so bad for him, man,” Miles told E! News of Michael at the annual Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. “He put in the work, he put in the time, he’s done this for so long—and he deserves this. So, I’m excited for him, happy for him.”
Plus, not only did Michael cement his place in history, but Ryan was only the second Black man to win for Original Screenplay while Sinners’ cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw became the first woman to win in the category. This is after, of course, the vampire thriller also set the record for most Oscar nominations of all time with a whopping 16.
Which is why it only makes sense that for Miles, having to say goodbye to the film now that he’s at the end of award season, is feeling “bittersweet.”
“I’m gonna miss spending time with the cast,” he said, adding, “When you share an experience so special, it’s like—it just brings everybody together. We’ve experienced something that nobody else has experienced. It’s special.”
Yet as hard as it is to say goodbye, the 21-year-old—for whom Sinners was his breakout role—knows he’s walking away with invaluable experience.

While working on the set alongside the likes of Ryan, Michael, Wunmi Mosaku and Hailee Steinfeld, Miles learned “what it means to lead, to be a leader,” he explained. “Seeing Ryan and Mike lead and collaborate, to make that team and that community of people, and that strong foundation—I think I’ve learned that most.”
Plus, he’s looking forward to seeing where this journey takes him.
Though the end feels bittersweet, Miles affirmed he’s “so excited to continue to grow and to continue to venture,” he said. “And do different things—and to see everybody else grow, too.”

But for now, Miles and the rest of the Sinners cast celebrated the film’s wins with Vanity Fair—though Michael made a quick pit stop at In ‘n Out to refuel.
