Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has intensified efforts to consolidate the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Over the past week, Saraki hosted party leaders, ward executives and key stakeholders across Ilorin West and Ilorin East Local Government Areas.

The meetings, held around Iftar and Maghrib prayers, were said to have focused on strengthening grassroots structures and boosting voter registration.

Officials described the engagements as part of a deliberate strategy to sustain close interaction with party members and promote unity, vigilance and active participation across the state.

Addressing party faithful, Saraki underscored the importance of effective coordination and voter mobilisation in achieving electoral success.

“Organisation, mobilisation, and ensuring that our supporters are duly registered must remain our collective focus,” he said.

Ward representatives at the meetings reportedly updated the former Senate President on activities within their respective areas and assured him of their commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots network.

Saraki also met with former councillors, supervising councillors and ex-local government chairpersons, urging reconciliation and unity within the party.

“The PDP remains a shared home for all of us. Let us put the past behind us and move forward together,” he stated.

In a separate engagement on Thursday, Saraki met with young women from Ilorin South Local Government Area, where he highlighted the importance of youth and women’s participation in leadership and party activities.

The former Senate President also continued his humanitarian outreach through the Ile-Arugbo initiative, providing food support to elderly women in Ilorin as part of efforts to sustain community engagement.
