Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed sadness over the decision of the Kano State Government he helped bring to power to leave the Kwankwasiyya movement and join the All Progressives Congress.
Kwankwaso spoke shortly after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his allies were officially received into the APC.
In a video shared on Sunusi Oscar’s Facebook page, Kwankwaso said he could not understand why a government formed under the Kwankwasiyya structure was moved to what he described as “Gandujiyya,” a faction linked to former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
“This government was formed with a lot of sacrifice, but without any clear reason that we know, it was taken away from our Kwankwasiyya structure and moved elsewhere,” he lamented.
Kwankwaso described the development as painful and disappointing, adding that only God knows the real reason behind the move.
He, however, said he was praying that the outcome would ultimately favour his supporters.
The former governor also congratulated members of the Kano State House of Assembly who won the recent elections in Ungogo and parts of Kano Municipal, despite what he described as low voter turnout.
He urged members of the Kwankwasiyya movement to remain steadfast, saying those who followed the government into the APC could still retrace their steps.
Kwankwaso added that the door of the movement remains open to those willing to return.
