Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen Break Up After 18 Years of Marriage
When in Rome, Jenny Mollen is taking time to contemplate.
Less than two weeks after the Angel actress and Jason Biggs confirmed their separation, she shared that she’s coping with the major life transition with a trip overseas.
“I leave for Italy on Wednesday, which sounds soooo Eat, Pray, Love considering the current state of my life,” Mollen—mom to Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8, with Jason—wrote in an essay on her The Best Friend Experience Substack May 25. “But I’m not going to find myself or sleep with some beautiful Italian stranger. I already have two half-Italians at home.”
Indeed, Mollen revealed the transatlantic trip was already in the cards for her, prior to the announcement of her breakup with the American Pie actor after 18 years of marriage.
“I’m actually just going because a friend invited me to her birthday party,” she continued. “It also happens to be my birthday.”
Elsewhere in the essay, the 46-year-old admitted to previously rushing through important moments of her life, including her 6th birthday party when all she could think about was opening a piñata.
And while she vowed to take her time in life moving forward, Mollen joked that when it came to her trip to Italy, “If I come across a piñata, I absolutely intend on beating the s--t out of it.”
Earlier this month, Mollen and Biggs’ rep emphasized to E! News that the pair remained on “great terms” and “remained focused” on co-parenting their young kids.
Days before their breakup was confirmed, Mollen had alluded to strain in her relationship with Biggs—whom she married in 2008—in a separate post on her Substack.

“I’ve never been broken up with,” the Cattle Call star wrote in a May 10 post. “I've never been into someone who wasn’t just slightly more into me. But now karma is going to make me pay in spades!!!!”
While the pair was happily together for nearly 20 years, they did not hide their struggles over the years. In 2017, Biggs admitted that his struggles with alcoholism put a strain on their marriage prior to his sobriety journey.
Mollen, meanwhile, got candid about her feelings of jealousy in a viral 2017 essay titled, “I Used to Be Jealous of My Husband’s Ex, Then I Became a Mom” in 2019.
Biggs, for his part, thought the essay was “really sweet.”
“We have kids and life goes on and the girl you stalked has kids,” Biggs told US Weekly at the time. “We’re changing and we’re just kind of growing up and for her, she felt like she needed to sort of say something about that and how she is not that person anymore.”

An Autocorrect Error Led to Jason's Nickname
Jenny adorably shared on The Drew Barrymore Show in May 2021 that she often calls Jason "Jadon" on Instagram after her phone autocorrected his name. "I would write Jason and the phone would say Jadon, and then I would start doing it because I'm always referred to as 'Jason Biggs' wife' and I liked it because it's sort of my way of being a little disrespectful to him," Jenny joked. "And so I'm like, putting him in his place. No, on Instagram, you're my husband."

The couple are parents to two boys, Sid (born in 2014) and Lazlo (born in 2017). However, Jason isn't counting out baby no. 3 just yet. "As soon as I get my third, my girl, then I'm going to retire," Jason joked to People in 2018.

Jason marked one year sober in Oct. 2018 and took to social media to open up about his struggle with alcohol and drug dependency. "I first tried to get sober over 5 years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle," Jason wrote. "Turns out this s––t is hard. After some fits and starts, I've managed to put together one year of sobriety. I'm as proud of it as anything in my life. If you're struggling, know there's help. Don't be ashamed. We can do this."

This couple stands by each other no matter what. Writer-actor Jenny had no problem giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at motherhood, and thanking her husband Jason for his support. "[The] prostitute wasn't engaging with my wife the way I hope she would, so it all kind of fell apart, and the rest is in the book," Jason said on The View in 2014, as reported by Page Six.

The former SiriusXM radio co-hosts take their own advice: Jason and Jenny work with a marriage counselor! "We have been getting along at the end of the day because we have a therapist," Jenny shared with People in Dec. 2020. "You can't work together and not have a therapist."
