The All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State chapter, has announced that its 2026 State Congress will hold on Tuesday, March 3.
According to a notice issued on Monday, March 2, by the Chairman of the Lagos State Congress Committee, the congress is scheduled to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, formerly known as Onikan Stadium, by 10am.
The party said the exercise is in line with the provisions of its constitution.
“Pursuant to the provisions of Article 12.8 of the party’s Constitution, the All Progressives Congress, Lagos State Chapter, hereby announces the scheduled 2026 State Congress,” the statement read.
Naija News reports that the congress is expected to draw key stakeholders and delegates from across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state.
The party outlined categories of members qualified to participate in the congress.
They include members of the State Advisory Council; the State Chairman and members of the State Executive Committee; the State Governor and Deputy Governor, who are members of the party; as well as all serving and past members of the National Assembly from the state who belong to the APC.
Also eligible are members of the National Executive Committee from Lagos State; serving and former members of the State House of Assembly who are party members; elected Local Government Chairmen and their deputies; and all elected councillors across the 245 wards in the state who are members of the party.
The notice further listed chairmen and secretaries of the party in all Local Government Areas, five delegates per ward elected at the Ward Congress, and members of the Zonal Executive Committee from the state.
The party stressed that strict accreditation procedures would be enforced at the venue.
“All delegates are required to present their valid party membership cards and official accreditation tags for entry,” the notice added.
Party faithful are expected to converge on Lagos Island for what is considered a crucial gathering ahead of internal restructuring and preparations for future electoral contests in the state.
