Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that anyone who genuinely means well for the people of the state must align with the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reports that Governor Yusuf made the assertion on Monday when members of the Ward and Local Government Congress Committee paid him a courtesy visit, insisting that political alignment with the centre had become necessary for Kano’s development.

While defending his recent political stance and defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yusuf maintained that aligning with the Federal Government was in the best interest of Kano State.

“Anyone who means well for the people of Kano should align with the Federal Government, because we have missed a lot,” he said.

The governor suggested that past political differences may have cost the state certain opportunities, stressing that unity with the central government would foster greater development and access to federal support.

Yusuf further submitted that Kano’s political class is now more united than at any other time in the state’s history.

According to him, since he and several political actors decamped to the APC, reconciliation efforts have intensified across the state.

“Since we joined APC, more people are reuniting. Even divided families are coming back together,” he stated.

He described the current political atmosphere in Kano as one marked by renewed cooperation and collective purpose.

The governor also commended the Ward and Local Government Congress Committee for what he described as a successful exercise across the state.

He praised members of the committee for their efforts in ensuring a smooth conduct of the ward and local government congresses.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor, Mustapha Muhammad.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Ward/LGA Congress Committee, Lantep Dabang, thanked the governor for what he described as compassionate and fair leadership during the sharing formula of party positions.

He commended Yusuf’s approach to internal party arrangements, describing him as a leader guided by justice and integrity.

“Governor Abba Yusuf is a man of integrity and justice,” Dabang said.
