He also accepted the best actress in a comedy series nod on behalf of Catherine O’Hara, who died in January, giving a touching tribute to his late co-star. Michelle Williams won for her performance in the limited series Dying for Sex.

Kristen Bell is returning as host of the ceremony, which is streaming live on Netflix from 8-10 p.m. ET/5-7 p.m. PT from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. (See the red carpet looks and arrivals.)

Organizers announced the name change — they’re officially now known as The Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA — in November. “Since the show started over 30 years ago, our iconic statuette has always been called The Actor, and simply evolving the show’s name to align with the award itself made obvious sense,” Jon Brockett, showrunner and executive producer of the award show’s telecast, and JoBeth Williams, actress and chair of SAG-AFTRA’s Awards Committee explained at the time in a joint statement. “We wanted to provide clearer recognition in terms of what the show is about for our domestic and global audiences — we honor actors in film and television. Laser-focusing the name on those two things became the clearest and most straightforward path for this new chapter of the show.”
