Why Met Gala 2026 Is Extra Sweet for Dwayne Johnson, Lauren Hashian
For Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the Met Gala was a smashing time.
Not only did the 2026 event mark his first time walking the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s front steps, but it was made all the more special with his wife Lauren Hashian by his side.
“This is our first Met,” Dwayne told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Met Gala 2026, “and what’s cool about the Met is that, for us, usually with big red carpets like this you’re thinking about, ‘Oh, our opening weekend, what’s it gonna be?’ Or if it’s an event and you’re in competition for an award, but this is none of that.”
In fact, it made for a time when the Fast Five actor could relax and let his proverbial hair down.
As he put it, “It’s fashion’s biggest night. It’s our first, and it’s awesome.”
Also awesome was Dwayne’s look for the evening, a bold, black-and-white ensemble from Thom Browne featuring a tailcoat and skirt.
The real showstopper, however, was the diamond-encrusted watch he wore on his wrist courtesy of Jacob & Co. The timepiece, called the Billionaire III, is worth $3.3 million.
Meanwhile, Lauren—whom Dwayne wed in 2019—was also styled by Thom Browne, wearing a gorgeous white, halter-neck gown featuring floral embellishments.

But while the 54-year-old was thrilled that he and Lauren were able to attend the event this year, he was even more floored to see Lindsey Vonn walking the steps, just months after she suffered a catastrophic injury at the 2026 Olympics that almost left her unable to walk.
“Here’s what’s amazing, I just told her this,” the dad of three revealed. “She’s on crutches, and she’s like, ‘Ah, I don’t feel great being on crutches,’ and I was like, ‘Listen, dude, the reason why you’re on crutches, and what you were going for, is next level.’”
And after being informed that the gold medalist managed to walk up the museum steps without her crutches, he added, “I love that woman. She’s had more surgeries than I have, by the way.”
