Kyle Busch was one of the greatest and most controversial drivers in NASCAR history. Nicknamed “Rowdy,” he won the NASCAR Cup Series championship twice — in 2015 and 2019 — and became known for his aggressive driving style and fierce competitiveness.
Reports say Busch had recently been hospitalized with what his family described as a “severe illness.” Just hours later, NASCAR confirmed his passing. The exact cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Busch recorded:
- 63 NASCAR Cup Series wins
- 234 wins across NASCAR’s top three national series
- Multiple records in the Xfinity and Truck Series
- A reputation as one of NASCAR’s most talented modern-era drivers
Tributes have already poured in from across the racing world, including from fellow drivers, teams, and fans known as “Rowdy Nation.”
He is survived by his wife Samantha Busch and their children, Brexton and Lennix.
