Military personnel from Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have successfully freed a group of traders who were kidnapped by terrorists along the Funtua–Faskari route in Katsina State. In a separate incident, troops also apprehended two individuals suspected of vehicle theft.

The rescue mission began when soldiers received a distress call reporting that terrorists had blocked a commercial vehicle carrying traders and forced them into the nearby wilderness. Troops chased the assailants and engaged them in a gun battle, which compelled the kidnappers to flee into the forest and leave the abductees behind. The traders, who escaped unharmed, were guided to Sheme Market to rejoin their communities.

Meanwhile, in a joint effort with the Nigeria Police Force, troops stationed in the Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area acted on reliable intelligence to recover a stolen gold Toyota Corolla
