Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has shared details of the discussion that persuaded Vinicius Junior to reject a potential transfer to Arsenal.
Following his return from the 2026 World Cup break, the Brazilian winger's future at the Spanish club was uncertain. With only one year remaining on his contract, Vinicius was strongly linked with a transfer to Arsenal. Speaking in an interview with El Chiringuito, Mourinho disclosed the advice he gave to the forward during that critical period.
“All I told him was: ‘Vini, where do you want to go? You have been in Brazil, and then came straight to Madrid. You know nothing but Madrid. You will only know what Real Madrid is once you leave. Once you leave, you will know what was Real Madrid. Don’t go, it’s not worth it.'”
