Met Gala 2026 Dress Code Revealed
There’s no fashion battle that Teyana Taylor won’t win.
Indeed, the One Battle After Another star proved that was the case when she stepped out at the 2026 Met Gala in New York City on May 4.
For the star-studded event—which had a “Costume Art” theme and “Fashion Is Art” dress code—the 35-year-old wore a head-to-toe silver fringed Tom Ford gown, which she whipped into a frenzy. The look also included a fringed headdress that covered part of her face. (See all the celebrities at the Met Gala here.)
Not only does the outing mark Teyana’s fourth appearance at the Met Gala, but it’s also the actress’ first time serving on the event’s host committee alongside Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Misty Copeland, Lena Dunham and more. Meanwhile, Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams serve as cochairs this year alongside Anna Wintour.
In previous years, Teyana has never failed to nail the theme—and turn heads—on the legendary Met Gala staircase.
Last year, she proved she was fashion royalty, wearing a custom Marc Jacobs gray pinstripe suit with red velvet shoulder pads for the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme’s “Tailored for You” dress code.
The “Gonna Love Me” singer—who accessorized the look with leather gloves, a feathered top hat, a cane and platform heels—later said the suit accomplished two major goals: following the Met Gala theme and making her feel most confident.

“I’m already not a big dress girl,” she told Vogue last year. “I’m in suits even without it being a suit theme.”
In 2024, Teyana debuted a platinum blonde hairdo along with a crimson-colored strapless corset dress, which was covered in roses and ruby gems—fitting for the night’s "The Garden of Time" theme for the Costume Institute's "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" exhibit.
And the year before, the Golden Globe winner delivered upon the "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" theme, wowing in a skintight black-and-white tweed Thom Browne dress that featured side cutouts, built-in gloves and a floor-length train.
Teyana isn’t the only celeb making her mark at the 2026 Met Gala. Keep reading to see what other stars made fashion statements on fashion’s biggest night…
