Steph Curry Reveals Where He'd Rather Be Instead of at Met Gala 2026 With Wife Ayesha Curry
Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry aren’t staying courtside tonight.
Indeed, the NBA star and his wife arrived at the 2026 Met Gala in head-turning Balenciaga outfits that proved they aren’t just winning inside the basketball arena. (See all the celebrities at the event here.)
Fitted to the “Fashion Is Art” dress code, Steph sported a black, hooded trench coat over a sleek black suit. Meanwhile, Ayesha donned a sheer black strapless dress over a solid black bodysuit. The 37-year-old complemented her dress with a pair of black leather gloves.
But while the Golden State Warriors point guard is glad to be at the Met Gala alongside other fashion-forward athletes, he emphasized his heart is torn since the NBA playoffs are currently taking place.
“On one hand, I love it,” Steph exclusively told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Met Gala 2026 about being at the Met Gala. “On the other hand, that means I'm not playing basketball right now.”
Jokes aside, though, the 38-year-old added, “It’s fun to have a different crew and crowd of guys that I compete against showing themselves in the fashion world. It’s amazing.”
Steph and Ayesha—who tied the knot in 2011—last attended the Met Gala in 2021 and coordinated for the “Lexicon of Fashion” theme with Ayesha in a gray-and-gold floral dress and Steph sporting matching appliqués on the shoulder of his black tux.
Of course, Ayesha—who shares kids Riley, 13, Ryan, 10, Canon, 7, Caius, 23-months with Steph—has prioritized her sense of style ever since she was young.
“I definitely got my love of fashion and beauty from my mom and grandmother,” she told Bustle in 2021. “I don’t think I went a day without seeing my grandmother without a full face of makeup, so that idea of presenting yourself and taking pride in your appearance was instilled in me from a young age.”
After all, Ayesha and her mom Carol Alexander have bonded over their belief that “fashion allows for self-expression.”

“My mom and I are similar in a lot of ways when it comes to personal style,” she continued. “We’re not afraid to be bold with colors or patterns. But she likes to lean into romantic details, like florals, bows, and ties. I, on the other hand, gravitate toward menswear: oversize or tailored suiting and chunky footwear.”
As for how Steph’s interest compares to his wife’s love of fashion? He previously noted that Ayesha “has more space” in their shared closet.
"I'm probably more organized or more OCD about it being clean on my side,” he told People in 2023. "I put a little bit of pressure on her on the daily because of how my side of the closet looks.”
Still, Steph emphasized, “She puts pressure on me by trying to keep up with her style because she pretty much brings it every single day."
