Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has been declared the winner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Naija News had earlier reported that Atiku polled 1,846,370 votes to defeat former Rivers State governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and businessman, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
The final result was declared on Wednesday night by the returning officer of the ADC presidential primary election, Tunde Ogbeha.
According to the result announced by the party, Amaechi came second with 504,117 votes, while Hayatu-Deen polled 177,120 votes.
The ADC said its registered membership stood at 3,113,599. It added that total votes cast in the primary election were 2,527,977.
Before the final declaration, Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen had rejected the outcome of the primary.
They alleged irregularities, lack of transparency and violations during the exercise.
The two aspirants claimed the process did not reflect fairness and raised concerns over alleged voting issues.
