Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah marked his first start for Trabzonspor by scoring twice in a 2-1 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir on Sunday, securing his new club's first win of the Turkish Super Lig season.
The 34-year-old joined the Turkish club on a free transfer earlier this month after concluding a highly successful nine-year tenure at Liverpool. Having made his debut as a substitute in Trabzonspor's opening match of the campaign, Sunday's fixture represented his first start in the league.
Salah opened the scoring in the eighth minute, pouncing on a loose ball after Basaksehir goalkeeper Muhammed Sengezer failed to secure possession. The visitors leveled the score in the 19th minute when Eldor Shomurodov converted a penalty.
