Police apprehend  five suspected cultists with firearms in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested five suspected cult members and recovered several firearms during two separate security operations, according to Police Commissioner Patrick Daaor.

Speaking to journalists in Benin City on Tuesday, Daaor explained that the first suspect, 27-year-old Andrew Friday, was detained on August 7, 2026, in the Akpakpava area by officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
