A Nigerian man has shared his thoughts after watching Peter Obi’s one-hour-23-minute interview with Rufai. He watched it with an open mind because he wanted to hear Obi’s plan for the country.

According to him, there was no clear plan. He heard only nice wishes and empty talk instead of real strategies.

Every time Rufai asked difficult questions… such as how Obi would fix power supply, education, or insecurity …Obi gave the same reply: “Don’t worry, I will do it. I did it in Anambra.” The man said this is not a proper answer. It is just a slogan.

He added that Nigeria has over 200 million people, so running the country is very different from running Anambra State. Simply saying “trust me” is not enough to solve major problems like power or insecurity.

The man also said we should stop depending so much on the Anambra story. Many of Nigeria’s current problems …such as widespread insecurity, deep poverty, a broken power system, a falling currency, and heavy debt… were not under Peter Obi’s control when he was governor. He cannot use problems he never faced as proof that he can solve them now.

His main takeaway is that Peter Obi can describe the kind of Nigeria he wants to see. However, in this interview, Obi did not show a clear, detailed, and workable plan to achieve it.

If this is what the NDC is offering for 2027, then their candidate and the Obidient movement have someone who can talk about the destination but has not shown how to get there.

A destination without a map is not a plan. It is only a wish. The man concluded.
