North West Reveals She Wants to Work at Starbucks Next Year

North West’s parents can’t keep up with her personal style.

As Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s eldest daughter continues to experiment with fashion, she revealed why she has been so interested in piercings in the last year and why house rules are keeping her from getting more.

As North—who has debuted finger, nose and thigh piercings in the last few months—told Dazed in an interview published Aug. 24, “They just make you your full self.”

However, the 13-year-old admitted she’s still on a journey of self-expression—with confines from her parents.

“I really want to get my bridge pierced,” North admitted, “but I’m not allowed.”

Trust, she isn’t letting one restriction keep her in a box.

“I’d wear anything for real,” she explained, shutting down limits in her personal style. “I like to try new things. But I do like to have my own style. It’s just easy.”

Although North has not gotten her bridge piercing, she has worn fake jewelry to feign the look in selfies shared to Instagram, as well as the photoshoot accompanying her latest interview.

Meanwhile, the teen has shown her affinity for piercings through music, too. In February, she seemingly clapped back at criticism of her new aesthetic by dropping the track “Piercings on my Hand.”

“Piercing on my hand / the other holdin' bands,” North sings in the track. “No friends, just fans, you wouldn't understand.”

Elsewhere, the aspiring musician—older sister to Saint, 10, Chicago, 8 and Psalm, 7—expressed her interest in expanding her look.

“I want more piercings and tats,” she added. “I love blue hair, put it in some plaits.”

For Kim’s part, she has previously admitted that her daughter has taught her how to embrace her individual style without giving into criticism.

"She'll be like, 'Mom, I saw this and I don't really care if someone says they don't like my blue hair, or my this or that,’” Kim explained during an appearance on Call Her Daddy in October. “And she's really confident and is like, 'I probably wouldn't be hanging out with those people.’”

And while the Kardashians star has requested “grace” in navigating what she does and doesn’t allow her teenager to wear, she emphasized that when it comes to North developing her own sense of style, “I would never take that creativity away from her."
