Nicholas Hoult’s Wife Bryana Holly Slams Body Shamers After Oscars Vanity Fair Outing

Nicholas Hoult is taking a page out of Lex Luthor’s lookbook.

The Superman star, who is reprising his role as the Superman villain opposite David Corenswet in the superhero sequel, proved he is getting back into character as he rocked a shaved head while walking around New York City on May 3.

He was snapped right outside the Ritz-Carlton New York Nomad, where United Talent Agency threw its fourth annual pre-Met Gala party. Among the other famous attendees were Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Lisa Rinna, and Daisy Edgar-Jones, whom Nicholas posed with later in the night.

The 36-year-old is already back to filming Man of Tomorrow, with director James Gunn giving a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the production in an April 20 Instagram, writing alongside a badge detailing Lex Luthor’s incarcerated status and a chess set, “From the set of #ManofTomorrow. Shooting now.”

The Nosferatu actor is no stranger to changing up his hair style, especially for roles. For the first Superman movie, he revealed that his and wife Bryana Holly’s son Joaquin, 8, had helped him buzz his head.

“I did shave my head, which I find quite liberating whenever I've done it for roles," the Skins alum—who also welcomed a second baby with Bryana in 2022—told The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham in 2024. "I kind of enjoyed that. This time, I let my older son get the clippers out and do it for me, which was also fun."

Beyond the bald look, he previously experimented with a platinum blonde haircut for his role in the upcoming film How to Rob a Bank.

“I was in my wife’s aunt’s salon, and she was putting the bleach on my head, because I was like, ‘Let’s do it now and we’ll see, because maybe it looks bad and we don't want to use it,” he told GQ in October 2025. “But I did it and we felt like it was right for the aesthetic of the film and the character, and I kind of like it.”
