Met Gala 2026 Dress Code Revealed

Who wanna rock with JENNIE at Met Gala 2026?

The BLACKPINK member got the whole room spinning like it's tipsy at the May 4 fashion fundraiser, arriving to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City wearing a strapless blue gown from Chanel featuring 15,000 sequins that took 540 hours to sew on. She accessorized with a dangly earring made with gold and white diamonds also from the French fashion house.

And for those asking how she kept her hair done, nails done like JENNIE, the K-pop singer had her tresses in an elegant updo as she flashed a metallic manicure that perfect matched the pale blues of her dress.

But JENNIE is not a rookie at fashion's biggest night. She made her Met Gala debut in 2023, when she wore a black-and-white Chanel mini dress as a nod to late designer Karl Lagerfeld, who's storied career was being honored that year.

"I'm so lucky to have the Chanel team recreate this look from the '90s, the one that Karl did," she told Vogue at the star-studded event. "I'm just so happy."

Her joyful spirit was also partly because of advice from her bandmate Rosé, who she performs with alongside Lisa and Jisoo in their girl group.

"Rosie was here last year and she told me just have fun," JENNIE said at the time. "So, that's the plan."

Indeed, the "Like JENNIE" artist quickly became acquainted to the Met Gala, returning the following year in a royal blue Alaïa gown draped across her body in keeping with the "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" theme.

In fact, JENNIE revealed that the Pieter Mulier-designed dress was "actually one whole fabric."

"I don't think Met day would ever be chill for me," she quipped on the Vogue livestream. "But honestly, being here last year made me be a little bit more relaxed."

Her confidence only grew at last year's Met Gala, where she rocked Chanel again with a tuxedo-inspired number.

"Black dandyism, the Met Gala 2025 dress code, is more than just a style. It challenges tradition, embraces gender fluidity and redefines elegance," she explained to the outlet's Japanese edition. "This look represents Coco Chanel’s vision of the early 20th century, freeing women from the constraints of fashion and blending masculine and feminine elements."

The 30-year-old added, "The lustrous satin bodice, slim-fitting trousers and sculpted, graceful overskirt are stylish, but also embody Chanel’s break with the mold of women’s clothing, giving them freedom of movement and expression."
