Nigerian musician Chinedu Okoli, widely recognized as Flavour Nabania, has shared a memory of a humiliating encounter he had with the now-disbanded duo P-Square during the early stages of his music career.
During a recent appearance on a podcast, the "Ada Ada" singer detailed how a club manager ordered him off the stage during a live performance to accommodate P-Square, who had just arrived at the venue.
Flavour explained that witnessing the crowd's ecstatic reaction to P-Square made him question if they were even practicing the same craft. However, rather than allowing the public embarrassment to deter him, he channeled the experience into motivation to refine his skills and remain dedicated to his career.
Recalling the incident, Flavour said:
"I was performing one time when PSquare came in, and the manager of the place told me to leave the stage immediately."
"I switched off my mic and went and sat down somewhere. Ladies were screaming and cheering wildly the moment Paul of P-Square took the mic and began singing ‘Temptation.’"
"I was wondering whether it is not the same music we are all doing because I have been performing there and the crowd had never cheered me that way."
"I didn’t let the experience discourage me. Instead, I took it as a motivation to work harder and now we are here," he stated.
