The Department of Homeland Security has issued more than 100,000 civil fines totaling approximately $84 billion to illegal immigrants since President Donald Trump returned to office about 18 months ago, according to a DHS official. As of July, the agency had successfully collected about $1.2 billion of those fine payments.
