Government officials in the Central African Republic have ordered the closure of the Zamboye artisanal gold mine, located near the country's border with Cameroon, following a devastating landslide.
According to the official government toll, the disaster has claimed the lives of at least 49 people. However, local sources report that the actual death toll could reach approximately 100, as numerous miners remain unaccounted for after the collapse.
