Met Gala 2026 co-chairs Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman may have dazzled in one look on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but the celebs opted for a new look inside the highly exclusive party.
Beyoncé's Hair Colorist Reveals Secret to Her Early '90s Look at Met Gala 2026
Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman's outfit swap was practically magic.
Indeed, the 2026 Met Gala co-chairs turned heads outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City May 4 and onstage among the evening's attendees with a brand-new look inside.
While Beyoncé—alongside husband Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter—arrived on the famed Met steps in a sparkling custom Olivier Rousteing nude gown encrusted with a dazzling diamond skeleton on the front, she swapped out the ensemble for a jaw-dropping black number for the soirée. She was all smiles as she stepped out alongside fellow co-chair Venus Williams—who did not swap out her Swarovski look for the evening—and Nicole in front of the Temple of Dendur in a crystal-encrusted custom Robert Wun Coutour number featuring a dramatic mermaid skirt and a matching veil.
Meanwhile, the Babygirl actress began the evening in a sequined, red Dior gown embellished with feathers along the cuffs and the waist. Alongside her and ex Keith Urban's daughter Sunday Rose, 17, Nicole also showed off her longest hairdo in recent years, with her blonde tresses cascading down her back.
When it was time to take the party inside, the Oscar winner opted for a pink-and-white Chanel look with feathers perched on her shoulders. Although the floral print on the skirt may not be groundbreaking for spring, the ensemble was surely Met Gala-ready.
As co-chairs of the gala, embodying the evening's dress code "Fashion Is Art" was essential. For Venus' part, her look for the biggest night in fashion highlighted an important message.

The tennis pro—who attended the Met Gala with husband Andrea Preti—stunned in a black mermaid gown covered in diamonds, which she accessorized with a diamond-encrusted neck piece.
"I'm wearing my earrings that say six percent," she exclusively told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Met Gala 2026, "and representing Gatorade and this project where we're talking about how women only get six percent of the research in sports science."
Venus added, "Can you imagine? So tonight's a special night for that."
