You'll Marvel at Rihanna, A$AP Rocky's Spider-Man Party for Son Riot's 3rd Birthday
A$AP Rocky wants people to know that he and Rihanna live their lives like any other couple.
Three months after the “Peso” rapper and “Live Your Life” singer went viral for having what many speculated to be a tense exchange following the 2026 Met Gala, he set the record straight, explaining what did—or did not—actually go down.
“We was just talking,” A$AP shared on a Aug. 5 interview on The Jason Lee Show. “I don’t know what we was talking about, but we was talking.”
He continued, “Even if we was arguing, it’s just like, why the f--k are they so nosy?”
As for proof that their conversation was innocuous, he points to his recollection. “I don’t think we had an argument that night,” he added, “I would’ve remembered that.”
After the video of A$AP, 37, and Rihanna, 38, looking serious while sitting in a sprinter bus after the Met Gala May 5 was published, it led to speculation about their relationship—with some even trying to analyze the pair’s body language.
But according to A$AP, the couple—who share kids RZA, 4, Riot, 3, and Rocki, 10 months—were simply “exhausted” after the prestigious fashion event, where the “L$D” rapper rocked a custom bubblegum pink ensemble by Chanel and Rihanna stunned Margiela by Glenn Martens couture gown with her hair styled in jeweled curls.
That said, he pointed out that just like other couples they don’t live in harmony every minute of the day.
“We human. We have arguments. We have disagreements,” he told Jason Lee, before referencing how the host previously shared how he once ran into them having a toy gun fight in a drugstore at 4:30 a.m. “It’s not going to be us with Nerf guns in f--king Duane Reade every time.”
As A$AP (born Rakim Athelston Mayers), put it, “Life be lifing. S--t real. We got kids together.”

Indeed, A$AP emphasized that Rihanna has supported him through tough times, even before their longtime friendship turned romantic in 2019, noting, “Every time I’m at my lowest and darkest place, rather if we just friends platonically or we in a couple relationship, she always f--kin’ there for me.”
