A prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is disqualified from holding the presidency because he failed to submit his primary and secondary school certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Okonkwo called on the president to adhere to Nigeria's legal requirements governing university admissions.
The controversy arose after INEC released the credentials and personal details of presidential candidates running in the 2027 elections. According to the published documents, Tinubu submitted only his university certificate, while his primary and secondary school certificates were absent. This omission has sparked widespread public concern and renewed scrutiny regarding his academic background.
Reacting to the development on the social media platform X, Okonkwo wrote: "Nigeria has its laws that should be respected. No Nigerian is qualified to go to a University without 5 credits at the O’ Level."
