The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has faced criticism for its decision to halt the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process ahead of the 2027 general elections. Sam Amadi, the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, argued that the registration window should remain open much longer.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, Amadi proposed that citizens should be allowed to register to vote up until one month prior to the election. While acknowledging that INEC has achieved notable advancements, he contended that the commission continues to rely on obsolete procedures.
